The Reengineering applied to the lighting system in an industrial organization
Abstract
INTRODUCTION. The increase in electricity prices, climate change, has driven the shift of the global lighting market towards more energy efficient light sources, through a lighting study for the industry in general. OBJECTIVE. Samples are taken and the procedure is applied, to establish its incidence on productivity in an industrial organization. METHOD. The research is developed under a mixed and bibliographic approach. In addition, it is supported by field work. RESULTS. The lighting levels found were contrasted with the European Standard (UNE-EN 12 464-1, 2003) (Lighting in workstations), with which it was found that they do not comply with the aforementioned standard, presenting 40% of non-compliance, for the area under study. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. Likewise, the DIALux evo 8.2 design and simulation software was used to develop a proposal for the ideal lighting system. It is verified, through productivity indicators, an increase of the same in the order of 80% respectively to production over the cost of electricity.
